Create work for women artists in Afghanistan

When we get goods home it is usually in cardboard boxes. But when it comes to the shipment we just got home of the artistic Herati glass from Afghanistan, the packaging matches the content! They arrive in colorful and artistic tin boxes.

The candlesticks and glasses are made using traditional techniques that go back thousands of years. They are handmade and painted by women in the Herat province of Afghanistan. Scrap glass is recycled and remelted and hand blown into new products.

Each purchase contributes to the worthy work of the female artists in Afghanistan. They badly need this at a time when fewer and fewer women are allowed to work and where poverty is increasing significantly.

At the same time, we contribute to keeping the precious craft alive. Watch the video below.

Big thanks to Østerland for making the production and import a success!
