An almond is not just an almond. In Afghanistan, there are over 100 different registered almonds.
Shakboz almonds are a very special and rare Afghan almond from Logar province that are white and have a crisp and fresh nutty flavor. The name means goat's horn because they resemble goat's horns when in their shells. They are white with thin shells because they are harvested early and dried carefully in the shade with a fan.
We have a total of five different Afghan almonds:

The company works directly with smallholder farmers and cooperatives in Afghanistan, sourcing the highest quality produce. Many nuts and dried fruits come from wild trees. They are hand-sorted and packaged by the women at Ziba Foods, meeting the highest food safety standards.
