Licorice root from Afghanistan is some of the best in the world because of the climate and cultivation in the mountains.
The licorice root is collected in northern Afghanistan, cleaned, processed and peeled 50%, which gives a very pure product with high levels of licorice flavor.
We have two editions:
Powder: Strong and tasty licorice root powder. Use it for sprinkling on ice cream or desserts, in cakes or put a teaspoon in a mug of boiling water for licorice-tea. Note that it is the raw and pure powder of the root, not extracted licoricepowder.
Sticks: 7 licorice roots, ca. 25g, in every package. Can be chewed as candy or used in tea.
It is produced by the company SHADIAN in Mazar-e-Sharif in Northern Afghanistan. The licorice production was, in march 2022, certified organic, however the products have not been imported organically yet and with an organic label.
The production gives jobs and income to both women and men.
The licorice powder is imported, tested and packaged in cooperation with Lakrids by Bülow.
