Syria

Syria has been devastated by a civil war between the regime and various rebel groups since 2011. The country is currently governed by a fragile transitional order that emerged after the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December 2024.

Nine out of ten inhabitants live in poverty, many in extreme poverty, and there is very high unemployment and inflation.
