Moringa powder from Niger

When we are looking for new products, we always ask the companies we do business with what they are most proud of. In Niger, they are proud of their moringa powder, which is made from the dried leaves of the Moringa tree.

We have now got it to Denmark after an unusually long and difficult journey. It was only possible thanks to the persistent efforts of the Dane Safi Yahiya, who has roots in Niger.

The Moringa tree is also known as the “Tree of Life” or the “Miracle Tree” due to the leaves’ high content of vitamins, minerals, protein and antioxidants. The taste is somewhat reminiscent of the taste of green tea with a slightly spicy, horseradish and herbal undertone.

It is a superfood that has traditionally been used in soups and teas, but is also suitable for smoothies, yogurt, pesto and baked goods.

We are very happy to have goods from Niger and Burkina Faso, where the populations are affected by military juntas, escalating jihadist attacks and a significant humanitarian crisis.
