Developments in Afghanistan have gone very quickly and we are in close contact with the Afghan companies we are dealing with in Warfair.
The Taliban has now taken over control in virtually the whole country. It creates concern and insecurity, but together with our corporate partners we breathe relief that it has happened without violent struggles and loss of human life.
The future of the Afghan population is uncertain. And the future of our corporate partners in Herat, Mazar-in-Sharif and Kabul are also uncertain. However, the Taliban has signaled to the companies that they want them to continue and no one has been attacked.
Afghanistan is a country other than it was 20 years ago (See Chronicle), and we hope, with everything we can, for a better future for the hard -tried population.
If at all possible, we in Warfair will continue to buy goods from our good Afghan business partners. The companies urge us to us. We owe it to the employees and farmers who are banging to make The unique quality products, we have got to Denmark. The Afghan population will continue to need income and jobs. And trading in good Afghan companies and goods will show that we are not failing the Afghan population.
Afghanistan was once known for making amazing nuts, almonds and dried fruits. Afghanistan should be again.
We still believe that through trade we can make a small but positive contribution to peace and progress in Afghanistan.
Thank you for dealing for peace.
PS. In the first 4 months of 2021 more than, warfair doubled the Danish import from Afghanistan.
